Q. What is the LIFFFT-Cashew Project?

The Linking Infrastructure, Finance, and Farms to Cashew (LIFFT-Cashew) is a sub-regional project launched in 2017 to enhance the production and trade of cashews in local and international markets. LIFFT-Cashew is implemented by Shelter For Life International in the Senegal, The Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau cashew production zone (SeGaBi Zone), with funding from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Q. What is Shelter For Life International?

Shelter For Life (SFL) International is a non-profit relief and development organization with headquarters in Minnesota (United States of America), with over 30 years of experience and extensive history in infrastructure, agriculture development, food security, and enterprise development.

Q. Why is the project implemented only in Senegal, The Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau?

We have focused our intervention area to a cashew production zone, called SeGaBi (Senegal, The Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau), which stretches from Ziguinchor through The Gambia into Guinea-Bissau.

Q. What is the duration of the project?

The project covers a period of six (6) years, from 2017 to 2023.
