The following resource materials have been compiled by SFL to assist local cashew processors in the SeGaBi region understand the requirements of United States markets regarding cashew kernels. The following documents will allow local cashew processors to prepare their processing operations and products for sale to international markets. These requirements must be met by cashew processors to prepare their operations and products for sale to international markets, principally the United States. These include namely the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Certification requirements, Association of Food Industry (AFI) Standards, Compliance with U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), US Food and Drug (FDA) food facility registration, Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) Requirements, and volume and timing requirements. International buyers may refer to the checklist to confirm that cashew processors’ operations and products meet U.S. market standards and entry requirements.
