A ray of hope for the cashew value chain.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Shelter For Life International through LIFFT-Cashew continues to amaze value chain actors.
Indeed, after a long process of accompanying cooperatives in the formalization, collection of nuts and facilitation of access to financing LIFE INVESTMENT GROUP or Cashew Fund was born from the baptismal font.
Specially designed, this time to accompany cashew processors, LIG is starting its procedure of identifying the owners of processing units in order to boost them and thus contribute to the increase of productivity in Senegal by favoring local consumption.
LIG in addition to creating employment, financing processors, also aims to help them open up to the international market especially in the USA where the almond is very popular because of its many virtues.
As a reminder, LIG has been able to contact more than five processing unit owners through SEGABI and has to its credit two financing of more than 100 million CFA francs.
One of them was recently finalized for the establishment of a unit here in Casamance to the great joy of the youth, women because with this collaboration sources of income will be created with this unit in addition to the many job opportunities that will be created for this layer of the population.
