Thank you for the success of the 1st edition of the Forum on January 28, 2022 in The Gambia on the theme “Financial Inclusion in the Cashew Sector”.
The organization of this forum participates in the effort to optimize the leadership of the Community, which consists in reaching men and women from different backgrounds who are active in the cashew sector.
Shelter For Life would like to introduce Fanta Diarra, an important member of our team in West Africa, where she works with SFL’s LIFFT-Cashew project in the three countries of Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, and The Gambia. Fanta leads the part of the project that improves access to finance for cashew producers by connecting farmers to the banking system.
This initiative helps cashew farmers to both increase their cashew yields and improve their standard of living. Fanta says that she greatly enjoys her involvement in this effort as she helps cashew farmers organize and get connected to greater financial resources. The next time you buy cashews, think of Fanta!
